No one in U. S. can ever think to forget the contribution made by U. S. Women’s Soccer Team. The contributions that the team has made are numerous and unforgettable. The team went on to even greater glory, after having performed really well that made them to win another World Cup in 1999 and Olympic gold medals in 1996 and 2004.
Now after the two decades are over, many out of the total players have lost their being as a team player. Michelle Akers, who had scored the winning goal against the Norwegians in the 1991 final, is now running a rescue ranch for horses in Florida. Carin Jennings-Gabarra, who had been a most valuable player has now been coaching the women’s team at U. S. Naval Academy in Annapolis. Lilly the key player of the team has also retired from the team, with other 5 players have got married and by now have children of their own.
Hamm and Foudy may not now be allowed to be the part of world cup, but they will be involved in Germany 2011, as commentators for ESPN, not because the fame they had earned for the contributions they made towards the country was now over but it was so because U. S. now wants to give chance to new generation. U. S. has always been ranked No. 1 in the world for its sports activities and can not let this rank move down by bit even in the wake of other countries that are now moving up fast with zeal.
