According to preliminary figures from Statistics Finland, prices of old dwellings in housing companies fell 0.9% in July 2025 compared with a year earlier. Month-on-month, however, prices inched up by 0.2%.
Among Finland’s largest cities, only Espoo saw an increase, with prices up 1.2%. The sharpest declines were recorded in Vantaa (-2.8%) and Helsinki (-1.5%).
- Across the Helsinki metropolitan area, prices dropped 1.1% year-on-year and 0.4% from June.
- Nationwide, apartment prices decreased 1.1%, while rowhouse prices fell 0.4%.
- Despite falling prices, transaction activity picked up: the number of sales of old apartments via real estate agents was 10% higher than in July 2024.
The data underscores a cooling housing market in Finland’s biggest cities, even as Espoo bucks the trend with modest gains.
