Saab has expanded its presence in Poland’s defence sector with two new agreements, signed during the MSPO defence exhibition in Kielce. The deals underline Sweden’s growing security cooperation with Poland and Saab’s ambition to strengthen its position in Central and Eastern Europe.
The first agreement is a Memorandum of Understanding with PGZ Group, Poland’s state-owned defence leader. The MoU covers potential collaboration across air, land and naval domains, and includes opportunities to support Ukraine’s defence industry. Saab CEO Micael Johansson described the deal as “a milestone that deepens Swedish–Polish defence cooperation” (Saab, Sept 2025).
At the same event, Saab also signed a strategic cooperation agreement with WB Group, one of Poland’s most innovative technology companies. The focus will be on unmanned aerial systems, naval platforms and border security solutions. The agreement was concluded in the presence of Sweden’s State Secretary to the Minister of Defence, Peter Sandwall, highlighting its political significance (Saab, Sept 2025).
Together, the partnerships reflect a dual strategy: joining forces with PGZ, an industrial heavyweight, while also collaborating with WB Group on cutting-edge defence technologies. For Saab, the agreements strengthen its multi-domain offering and anchor its role in Europe’s evolving security landscape.
