Sweden’s inflation rate, measured by the CPIF (consumer price index with a fixed interest rate), was unchanged at 2.5 percent in August, according to preliminary figures from Statistics Sweden (SCB).
The monthly change from July to August was 0.4 percent. The largest upward contributions came from higher electricity prices and food costs, while clothing and some household goods saw modest declines.
SCB noted that core inflation, excluding energy, remained broadly stable, suggesting that underlying price pressures are easing even as volatility in the energy market continues to influence the headline rate.
The August figure leaves inflation in line with the Riksbank’s target, though policymakers have stressed that they will monitor energy markets closely before making decisions on further interest rate adjustments.
